We are a group of passionate individuals dedicated to preserving, protecting, and restoring wetlands.
Wetlands act as natural sponges against floods and heavy rainfall. A wetland can absorb over 1,000,000 gallons of water per acre, preventing flood damage by 30–40 percent.
Wetlands act as natural filtration systems, trapping particulate matter and greenhouse gases (CO₂, CH₄, etc.), reducing air pollution by up to 65% in urban areas.
Wetlands are home to endangered species such as the Bog Turtle, Whooping Crane, and Florida Panther. When wetlands are destroyed, these species become vulnerable.
Not only do wetlands provide a home for endangered species, they are incredibly biodiverse, making them the best home for species. Wetlands help the species that actually reside in them, and those species help the wetland too. This creates an incredibly complex, but beautiful system
